I have found a location for our rehearse before we go to record the choir. I think that this location is even better than the one we already have! I have spoken with the people from Saint Barnabas Catheadral and they are alright to let us the place to rehearse for four hours on wednesday, from 2 0'clock in the afternoon till 6 o'clock. Will be nice that all the people to assist in the recording on the 24th of april comes on wednesday.
We will need a nice vocalist to record (Jo, I though that you could do it) or a band that would like a song recorded. All of you know that I am not ashamed of singing, but I am far to be nice... We might need a car as well to carry the stuff to the cathedral and back to Confetti. This is the list of the equipment booked for wednesday is the next:
4 X C414 as much paired as possible
2 X Neumann TLM 193
1 X Neumann KLM 183
3 X AKG SE300B
1 X Sonic electronics Orpheus
15 X Black XLR's
2 X extension cables (power).
One or two headphones.
Focusrite interface (I don't know the name)
5 X Mik stands
1 X Big mik stand
If you have any suggestions to add in the list, please feel free to say it.
Will be nice that all the people that will assist confirms it soon.
See you
Sounds good Jordi! getting the equipment there shouldn't be too hard, I dont know about the big stuff, but its not too far to just carry some of the things, unless we do pack it into a car, 4 C414s might be overkill though :)
ReplyDeletePlus if we're doing Deca Tree for the choir we might want to think about the space it takes up if we're using the big chunky mic stands.

wicked I'l be there for that =)
ReplyDeleteyeah how are we getting things there??
I guess Dan is quite right. Maybe we don't need a car to move 10 microphones, a laptop, an interface and few micstands. Hopefully we will be 6 people and the cathedral is not far away.
ReplyDeleteWe were discussing today which Microphone set up should we do in the gig and we thought that a decca tree is not a very good idea. A side that generally is used for big ensambles, to place a decca tree in front of the choir will have a too big visual impact. Remember Dan that we are recording a live event, with audience that I bet they will dress smokings and nice dresses, a Decca tree in front of the choir will send us home without recording. Today we spoke about a spaced pair with a reinforcement in the center close to the choir and a mid and side hanging from one of the beams of the ceiling. What do you thing?
I'll have my car anyway all day and will be parking it nearby Trent anyway. It won't be such a big thing for me to drop of equipment then park.
ReplyDeleteI'm liking the mics for the session too. I like the idea of the mid and side hanging (if we can get up there!). We will discuss in more detail tomorrow but I like what we've been discussing.

Hi guys!
ReplyDeleteThere is a bit of a change of plans for the choir recording. The gig is going to happen on wednesday the 20th of april instead of the 24th. Spread the news.
