Reherasals for the choir!

Hi everyone,

I have found a location for our rehearse before we go to record the choir. I think that this location is even better than the one we already have! I have spoken with the people from Saint Barnabas Catheadral and they are alright to let us the place to rehearse for four hours on wednesday, from 2 0'clock in the afternoon till 6 o'clock. Will be nice that all the people to assist in the recording on the 24th of april comes on wednesday.

We will need a nice vocalist to record (Jo, I though that you could do it) or a band that would like a song recorded. All of you know that I am not ashamed of singing, but I am far to be nice... We might need a car as well to carry the stuff to the cathedral and back to Confetti. This is the list of the equipment booked for wednesday is the next:

4 X C414 as much paired as possible

2 X Neumann TLM 193

1 X Neumann KLM 183

3 X AKG SE300B

1 X Sonic electronics Orpheus

15 X Black XLR's

2 X extension cables (power).

One or two headphones.

Focusrite interface (I don't know the name)

5 X Mik stands

1 X Big mik stand

Choir list

Hi all,

Answering to Chris' comment, If you can't be in Notts for that date, don't worry. Its not gonna be practical at all to be 12 people there, also we would offer a very bad image in front of the choir and the whole university. Having said that we should make a list of the people that would be up for that recording, I would say maximum 5. I'm obviously going to go. Anybody else interested?

Trent Uni Choir

Hi all,

I spoke with the director of the choir in trent uni and he is happy to let us record them. They let me stay for a bit in the rehearsal. There is some amazing vocalists and all of them seam very passionate about it.

They are doing a small tour in a couple of weeks so their rehearsals are a bit stressful right now. I don't think is a good idea to be in the middle of those rehearsals and disturb them. Although he told me that on the 24th of April they are doing a gig in Trent to close the tour and that we can do the recording of the whole gig!

I think it is perfect! will be the last gig of the tour (so they will have cleaned up all the mistakes they had before) and in their home, so their motivation will be extra. Perfect to catch a good performance.

What do you guys think? I will have to confirm him that we are gonna do it as soon as possible.

Sample fun

I cut up some of the EM samples to make the drums for this.

It's just an idea, and it's not exactly a 3/4 concrete piece. We could expand on it, edit it or throw it in the virtual bin. Let us know what you think either way.

Hi all,

I have contacted the Trent university choir a couple of days ago and I am still waiting for a response. If they didn't answer for wednesday I will go and see them in their rehearse and try to speak with them. Just keeping update.

To Do List

Lets get a list of everything we need to do on the 3 projects. We should also assign leaders for the 3 tracks. I am happy to lead Track 1 if everyone is happy with that. As for the other two I will let you lot decide.

Track 1 (EM Sounds)
Final recordings next EM session, a week on Wednesday.
Get into editing and mixing more of the song. As far as i am aware we have got an ace body of a song already, just start adding more to it.
